Atami Yuyado Ichibanchi
熱海温泉 湯宿一番地

Although it sits right in the heart of Atami, this inn has two hot spring sources of its own on the grounds, which is rare in Atami. The private open-air baths (kashikiri) are named "Kanichi no Yu" and "Omiya no Yu" after the lovers in The Gold Demon (Konjiki Yasha), a novel set in this town. For dinner, we recommend the inn's specialty, Atami-style simmered kinmedai (splendid alfonsino).
