千明仁泉亭

# Free-flowing "Kogane-no-Yu" hot spring

Founded in 1502, this long-established ryokan stands midway up Ikaho's famous Stone Steps street. It is known as a favorite inn of the Meiji-era novelist Tokutomi Roka, who stayed here often and portrayed it in his best-known work, "Hototogisu." The inn has one of the most abundant hot spring supplies in Ikaho, and the sheer volume of Ikaho's signature reddish-brown "Kogane-no-Yu" (golden water) overflowing from the tubs is striking. Relax with a drink at the in-house cafe & bar "Rakusui Rakusan," or stroll the Stone Steps right outside the door for a true onsen-town stay.
